We are Plàncton Diving

Would you like to try diving or snorkelling and discover an underwater world of adventure accompanied by a team of experts in marine science? Do you already dive but you’d like to learn more? Enjoy a wonderful diving experience with our top team of oceanographers and marine biologists!

Our centre is located in l’Ametlla de Mar (in the Terres de l’Ebre region), just a thirty-minute drive from Tarragona and 90 minutes from Barcelona or Lleida. Our office is in the Urbanització Les 3 Cales residential area on the coastal side of the N340 road. We are open all year round. During the summer, we can also be found at the cabin we have set up in the same residential area beside the sea, next to the old Castell de Sant Jordi d’Alfama fort – between the Sant Jordi and Cala Vidre beaches. These spectacular beaches, with good parking facilities, are very popular with divers. Our boat, Planctonsita, is moored at Calafat harbour.

At Plàncton we offer snorkelling outings and all kinds of diving activities and courses for a range of levels and needs. We aim to show you marine life in a different way with our guides who all have degrees in Marine Science or Marine Biology. Our team of scientists will guide you and show you the different animal and plant species living underwater and on the sea bed in l’Ametlla de Mar: you’ll see the most common species, those which hide away, the most sociable ones, and those which are just passing through…. You’ll learn to recognize them and find out all about their lives and behaviour. It will give you a whole new outlook on the sea!

At Plàncton Diving we want to encourage you to love the sea like we do and share the passion our highly-qualified instructors feel for diving. We work with small groups, flexible timetables, short or long dives, and above all we adapt to the levels and needs of all our clients to ensure everyone has the best experience possible. All our staff have science degrees so we add an environmentally-aware scientific point of view to all our courses, outings and other activities.

At Plàncton Diving we are ready to help you with anything you need in the world of diving or snorkeling, including advice on what equipment to buy, trips, environmental awareness activities and many other aspects. We want you to feel like one of the family and enjoying diving here in a pleasant and inviting atmosphere without the stress and hurrying sometimes experienced elsewhere.
